It is held a few days before the Big Illuminations Switch On. In 2021 it is on Tuesday 31st August, at approximately 7pm* Ride the lights begins. The roads reopen at approximately 10pm. It is a great way to see the Illuminations before the official switch on and get some excersize at the same time.

The lights stretch for nearly 6 miles along the coast – Join at any point between Starr Gate in the south and Bispham in the north, and ride as much or as little of the route as you wish. Many families make a full night out of it, stopping off for Fish and Chips along the route.
