What is rHuPH20?
A fully human recombinant DNA-derived hyaluronidase enzyme (rHuPH20) has been developed to leverage the historical efficacy of animal testes extract-derived spreading factors to reversibly modify the hypodermis, in light of discovery of the human hyaluronidase gene family.
How does ENHANZE work?
ENHANZE is based on Halozyme’s proprietary recombinant human hyaluronidase rHuPH20, which works locally and transiently to depolymerize hyaluronan (HA) in the extracellular matrix of the SC space, which enables bulk fluid flow and increases the dispersion and absorption of many coadministered therapeutics.
What is enhanze?
Enhanze SC is a local formulation of recombinant human hyaluronidase intended for use as a “spreading agent” to enhance the drug delivery of local anesthesia, contrast agents, and for subcutaneous fluid replacement (also called hypodermoclysis).
What does halozyme therapeutics do?
Halozyme Therapeutics is an American biotechnology company that develops novel oncology therapies designed to target the tumor microenvironment and licenses a novel drug delivery technology through corporate partnerships.
Where is hyaluronidase found?
Human hyaluronidase is present both in organs (testis, spleen, skin, eyes, liver, kidneys, uterus, and placenta) and in body fluids (tears, blood, and semen) [5]. There are six known types (hyaluronidase 1–4, PH-20, and HYALP1).
How do you store hylenex?

What foods contain hyaluronidase?
It’s also found naturally in other citrus fruits, tomatoes, and figs ( 13 ). Naringenin blocks the activity of hyaluronidase, an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of hyaluronic acid. Therefore, eating more oranges could help you maintain healthy levels of hyaluronic acid in your body ( 14 , 15 ).
Is hyaluronidase a drug?
With the increasing popularity of hyaluronic acid filler, hyaluronidase has become an essential drug for the correction of complications and unsatisfactory results after filler injection.
How long is Hylenex good for?
If stored at room temperature (25˚C, 77˚F), the stability is only guaranteed for 12 months. Once the ampoule is opened, hyaluronidase should be used immediately and any unused contents discarded (Hyalase® SPC).
Is Hylenex refrigerated?
Hylenex Recombinant is supplied sterile as 150 USP units of nonpreserved recombinant human hyaluronidase per mL in a single-use glass vial. Store unopened in a refrigerator at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46° F). DO NOT FREEZE.
