What is meant by dynamic logic?

What is meant by dynamic logic?

Dynamic Logics (DL) are modal logics for representing the states and the events of dynamic systems. The language of DLs is both an assertion language able to express properties of computation states, and a programming language able to express properties of system transitions between these states.

What is static and dynamic logic?

Static versus dynamic logic. The largest difference between static and dynamic logic is that in dynamic logic, a clock signal is used to evaluate combinational logic. In most types of logic design, termed static logic, there is at all times some mechanism to drive the output either high or low.

What are the advantages of dynamic logic?

Advantages of dynamic logic circuits: 1) The number of transistors required here are less (N+2) as compared to 2N in the Static CMOS circuits. 2) This circuit is still a ratio less circuit as in case of Static. 3) The static power loss is very less in a dynamic logic circuit.

What is the difference between dynamic logic and domino logic?

Dynamic logic circuits are usually faster than static counterparts, and require less surface area, but are more difficult to design, and have higher power dissipation. High-speed operation of domino logic circuits is primarily due to the lower noise margins of domino circuits as compared to static gates.

What are dynamic gates?

Dynamic gates use clock for their normal operation as opposed to the static gates, which don’t use clocks. Dynamic gates use NMOS or PMOS logic. In static gates, inputs switch and after a finite input to output delay, output possibly switches to the expected state.

What is CMOS NAND gate?

CMOS NAND Gate It consists of two series NMOS transistors between Y and Ground and two parallel PMOS transistors between Y and VDD. If either input A or B is logic 0, at least one of the NMOS transistors will be OFF, breaking the path from Y to Ground.

What is gate logic in VLSI?

A Pass transistor exists when an nMOS or pMOS transistor is used alone with an imperfect switch. When nMOS and pMOS transistors are combined in parallel, it is called a Transmission gate or Pass gate. In this case the switch is on when the gate is 1. Static CMOS gates are very useful in logic design.

Which CMOS gate is faster?

9. Which gate is faster? Explanation: NOR gate is faster. NAND is more complex than NOR and thus NOR is faster and efficient.

What are the issues in dynamic design?

Issues in Dynamic Design : Charge Sharing leading to static power consumption by downstream gates and possible circuit malfunction. is large enough to be below the switching threshold of the gate it drives causing a malfunction.
