There are blend differences, yes. Zippo may make both now but it was not always so, and the blend for Ronsonol was created well before Zippo’s. Burn both side by side and you will notice different odors from each. That’s because the blends remain slightly different from each other.
How do you change the flint in a vintage Ronson lighter?
Simply slide the new flint in the screw hole (make sure the most coarse end goes in first for striking). Use gravity to help it (turn lighter upside down) you should be able to see the tip of it in the correct spot at the top of the lighter if you click/turn the flint wheel slowly. Make sure it’s in right!
