Is the Hurler still at Carowinds?
After Cedar Fair acquired Carowinds in 2006, the Hurler name remained, but all references to Wayne’s World were removed from the park. Carowinds has continued to provide Hurler with some “TLC” throughout the years.

What happened to the Shockwave at Kings Dominion?
Timothy Fan, 20, died Monday night after falling from the Shockwave, a stand-up roller coaster at Paramount’s Kings Dominion, about 20 miles north of Richmond. The Shockwave and two other stand-up roller coasters at Paramount amusement parks were temporarily shut down after the accident.
Has anyone died at Carowinds?
In 1999, at the Carowinds location in South Carlina, two trains on the Thunder Road ride collided, possibly due to a sensor malfunction. In 1998, a man was killed in a manner similar to James Young’s accident, though at California’s Great America. One of the boys died.
Why did Carowinds remove Thunder Road?
Thunder Road was closed on July 26, 2015, to make room for expansion at the park. On August 27, 2015, Carowinds announced that the Boomerang Bay waterpark would be expanded and renamed Carolina Harbor. The expansion resulted in the removal of Thunder Road.

Hurler at Kings Dominion was closed following the 2015 season. It was renovated by Rocky Mountain Construction and re-emerged as a steel coaster in 2018 called Twisted Timbers.
